YSLOW

YSLOW is becoming one of my favorite tools while testing and debugging websites. Yslow is a free tool from Yahoo.  It is a browser plugin for analyzing web pages based on 34 best practice rules. This tool helps find ways to speed up the site. It is very reliable with checking server settings, and also memory usage.

Some businesses are still very focused on Flash, and amazing customization. With today’s lightening fast internet speeds one could think that site performance would come after the design.  More than ever page load speeds are being taken into an account for Google, Yahoo, and other search engines.

If anyone is trying to optimize their site for high performance. I highly suggest installing Firebug, and Yslow. Those two browser plugins can make the process like just another list of things to do.  It has dramatic results.
