Free Helpful Tools

Hi Blog & all,

Over the past few weeks I have been taking note of website’s that offer free website performance scans. There are many helpful tools out there that make the web development process a bit easier. I have used them to scan my website for performance, debugging, Keywords, malware, specifications, and even optimizing some images.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Pingdom tools are my favorite out of the performance checkers. Yahoo’s Yslow, Google’s PageSpeed, Gtmatrix, and several other tools can be useful in the areas of paze size, load speeds, Cache, Cookies, and helps debug scripts/stylesheets.Most of these tools do the same  type of thing, but pingdom offers a few more free test. DNS health, connectivity, and consistancy can be checked all through one easy to navigate tabbed area.

Another favorite of mine, is the Sitemap submitter. This tool basically submits your sitemap.xml file with the syntax described here to several of the major search engines . Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, etc are all covered by entering in the URL to your updated sitemap. When you have updated your website with new content, Meta tags, or after a change in page structure; you’ll want to be sure to send notice of this for the quickest check from any given search engine.

Thought to write a quick blog, and hopefully someone can get help from these.

Thanks for the visit,

Rob
